Each spring we announce the annual National Women Build Week (typically held in early May) when Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity and Lowe’s Home Improvement of Santa Fe invite women to spend a day or more as volunteers at our construction site. The volunteer hours are 8:30am—3:30pm. All equipment is provided, and a tasty free lunch is served each day. Husbands, relatives and co-workers are also invited!
All volunteers must be age 16 or older. No experience is necessary—all training and tools are provided onsite. Individuals are welcome and may sign up online through our Volunteer Calendar. If you are interested in signing up a group of people, please contact Sophia Barnett, Director of Volunteers and Family Services, at (505) 986-5880, ext. 102 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
No construction skills are needed, but if you’d like to learn how to safely use hand and power tools, Lowe’s Home Improvement hosts a free ‘How To’ Training Clinic prior to the event week at their store at 3458 Zafarano Road, Santa Fe. No sign-up is necessary for the clinic, but check our News & Events page on this website, and Facebook page, for current dates and times.
