Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity WINS the national Habitat House Design Contest, presented by Habitat for Humanity International.

Our Habitat for Humanity affiliate is proud to announce that we have won the $25,000 prize for Design of the Year for sustainable, affordable design! A huge congratulations to our Director of Construction, Rob Lochner, Assistant Construction Director, Agustin Muñoz Hinojos, and our entire staff for this huge accomplishment.

The Habitat House Design Contest demonstrates Habitat’s commitment to high-quality housing that is safe and affordable for the long-term, as well as strategies that advance shelter technology toward building more and building better in recognition of our responsibility to meet an immense affordable housing need in an equitable way.
The Habitat House Design Contest was sponsored by Simpson Strong-Tie and open to all U.S. Habitat Affiliates with over 100 contest entries. Each entry was scored by an independent panel of judges. This contest also included categories for Affiliate Choice and Best In… Affordability, Sustainability, Resiliency, Multifamily, Plan Set, Layout, Construction Partnerships, Innovative Design Solutions, Low Carbon Footprint, and Equity/Inclusion in Construction.
